Alejandro Isaza

Alejandro Isaza de Zubiría is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with a postgraduate degree in Financial Management from Universidad de los Andes and an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in the United States. With extensive experience in the legal structuring and financing of large infrastructure projects in Colombia and Latin America, Alejandro’s work spans sectors such as transportation, energy, social infrastructure, and public services, advising both public entities and private clients throughout the various phases of the project life cycle. His practice also includes advising public entities and private clients on matters of public law, public procurement, public finance, and financial law.

Over the past year, Alejandro has been involved in several of the most significant infrastructure projects in Colombia and Latin America, acting as coordinator in consulting engagements such as: (i) the unsolicited PPP for the expansion of El Dorado Airport in Bogotá; (ii) the unsolicited PPP for the New Cartagena Airport; and (iii) the structuring of the Panamericana Este and Centenario PPP projects in Panama.

Among his most notable previous projects, Alejandro played a key role in the structuring of the First Line of the Bogotá Metro, one of Colombia’s most ambitious infrastructure initiatives, as well as in Bogotá’s first successful hospital PPP program, which involved multiple hospitals, including the Bosa Hospital PPP.

His experience also extends to the financing of large infrastructure and energy projects, including his involvement in the financing of the Cambao-Manizales and Santana-Mocoa-Neiva PPP projects, as well as the financing of multiple solar projects in Colombia and Chile.
